Name/Title

WWII US Naval Uniform Repurposed for Sea Scouts use

Entry/Object ID

2026.3.3

Description

From the collection of Bill Fritz, this being one of his uniforms from his service it was post war repurposed for Sea Scouts as a part of the Washtenaw County Boy Scouts Portage Trails Council Chapter 9. This Ann Arbor Chapter was eventually merged into larger chapters in 1973. This uniform had original USN patches and insignia removed, but the ghosting of stitching is still present. The Portage Trails Council 9 and Sea Scouts patches have replaced insignia. The Cap doesn't appear to have originally belonged to Bill Fritz but has had its ribbon removed.
