Description

Ideal Lawn Mower Grinder

Use

Sharpen reel lawn mowers

Context

This is one of two machines, probably identical, located side by side. They were used to sharpen reel lawn mowers, both the reel itself, and the bed knife. One machine could serve both functions, but it would have to be reconfigured to do so. Two machines, one configured to sharpen the reel, the other configured to sharpen the bed knife, eliminated the reconfiguration time. Per oral history of Horace Collins. Mr. Slowmaker sold one of the reel mower sharpening machines to Oliver Collins. He also had one acre of broom corn and made and sold brooms.
