Lanston, founder and chairman of government securities firm Aubrey G. Lanston and Co., Inc. Langton and his family moved from Summit to Short Hills in spring 1947, He died on August 24, 1960. The house, which was known for its gardens and featured in garden tours of the time, was sold on April 23, 1965 to John E. Dempsey Jr.Acquisition
