Oil portrait of Stewart Hartshorn's father, Jacob Hartshorn. Back of portrait is labeled: "JACOB HARTSHORN -- B. 6 Feb. 1807, Providence RI; D. 11 Nov. 1859, Boston MA; M. 4 Nov. 1827, Jane Dixon Fisher; Portrait inherited from the Hartshorn estate by his great-granddaughter, Catherine Jennette Hartshorn Campbell (1916-1989), who gave it to her daughter, Jennette Hartshorn Campbell" Slight flaking of paint on Jacob's upper lip and directly to the left of that spot. Portrait apparently needs to be cleaned of old varnish.
