Description

1932 garden photo labeled in ink "lower rose garden", probably in the Bancroft Gherardi garden and probably installed by Helen Wodell of Wodell and Cottrell. Back of photo has "Sept 32" on it in pencil. Front of photo shows reflecting pool mid-ground, paths through plant beds, cypress(?) trees in background. Bancroft Gherardi lived in a 14 room home with greenhouse located on Parsonage Hill Road and Adams Avenue. His wife, Mary Butler Gherardi sold the property to W. Palin Conway in November 1942.
