On Sunday August 18, 1941, the regular three-milk-car train run from Morristown to Newark left the tracks on the curve before the Millburn station rearing up the tracks and ending up at the station. The engine was on its side, the milk cars crushed, and the coaches damaged. A fireman was killed. For several days, Millburn was filled with sightseers. Commuters from the west had to be bused around the accident. In this photograph, the engine has been righted, but you can see the damage.Collection
