Photo from History of Union County. Edward Thomas Whittingham was born April 22, 1831. He graduated with a medical degree from the University of Maryland at Baltimore in 1852 and moved to Millburn in 1854. He was an assistant surgeon with the U.S. Army during the Civil War. In 1859, he married Martha C. Condit, daughter of Israel D. Condit of Millburn. Dr. Whittingham died on October 26, 1886 and is buried in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Millburn, NJ.Collection
