Scope and Content

Death records certified by Dr. Elwood Macpherson for the state of New Jersey, bureau of vital statistics. Most record the name of the deceased, birth and death dates, cause of death, parents, and birth and burial places. Perforated right edges and discoloration on most. Staple marks or tears on left edges of many of them. Names of the deceased persons are: Carrie Trengrove of 159 Millburn Ave, Millburn (June 17, 1927); George Conrad Kessler of 437 Millburn Avenue, Millburn (Nov. 27, but no year); Mary A. Pitcher of Morris Avenue, Springfield (June 4, 1927); Thomas Jefferson Haselman/Haselmann of 2 So. Springfield Ave (?), Springfield (no date of death); James Ripley (no address or death date); Palmer Bradner of Woodcrest Avenue, Short Hills (Feb. 20, 1931); Lucinda Davis Watson of 50 Linden Street in Wyoming section (Oct. 20, 1930; Rocco Thoms/Thomas of Millburn (March 15, 1926); Edward F. Spencer of the "Alms House" (the Poor House) in Millburn (Dec. 23, 1926); Henry Hummer of 206 Main St in Millburn (Feb. 16, 1928). Note: The Thoms/Thomas record is missing the top third of the document and has "Dr. Holmes" written in pencil on the back. Carrie Trengrove record has three (old) pieces of paper tape across the back, to repair a tear.
