Scope and Content

Linen-covered 186 page scrapbook. Multigenerational scrapbook passed down from Letitia Trotter Marshal to her daughter Charlotte, later Mrs. Herman C. Wherle. Front cover has writing that states, "This book belongs to Mrs. Herman C. Wehrle (Charlotte Marshall) 13 Duncan St. Millburn N.J." Inscription on first page reads: "Gift From my mother Mrs. Thos. Marshall (Letitia Trotter Marshall) and now belongs to me her daughter Charlotte, Mrs. H.C. Wehrle later to go (to) my daughter". Scrapbook contains newspaper clippings, pamphlets and notices from the 1880s-1950s, much of which pertains to Millburn history, the Marshall and Schmidt Families, and local businesses. There are also clippings from world events, Presidential elections, coronations, etc..
