Postally unused real-photo postcard of St. Rose of Lima convent. Inked message on both sides of card says: "My dear Sister Sophie, Do you know this place? It is too bad that you cannot see it as it is now. It is just delightful. The basket arrived O.K. May God bless you a thousand times. It gave us 14 jars after we all enjoyed them. The sisters all thank you very much. How did you find Teresa? Getting well is slow work. I am better; of course teaching is hard for me just yet. So many grades in one room is not easy work. Did you see Sr. Consilia? She had quite a long stay at Rochester. I heard from Tillie. Will you please send me her address? She hadn't it in her letter.
How is Flora? I wrote to her but I haven't heard from her as yet. The poor thing with her three litlle boys. Sure she has her hands full. Remember me to her and give her my love. Now my dear Sophie let me hear from you soon. You have no babies to mind & nobody to upset the ink when you write. Lovingly, Sr. M. Lisner(?)"
Card has light foxing and light overall yellowing. Divided back of card has "VELOX" in stamp area and that apparently dates it to 1909-1914.Acquisition
