June 2, 1943 cancel date (empty) envelope with "U.S. ARMY POSTAL SERVICE" cancellation. The envelope is addressed to "Athol W. Cliff; Millburn, N.J." The return address is: "Sgt. A.W. Goede; Co. E, 135 Inf.; APO #34; New York City." Lower left frontof the envelope is stamped "PASSED BY U.S...." with "TJ Nolan; Capt. Inf." handwritten over the faded censor's stamp. A small pencil note on the top of the back flap states "North Africa." The envelope is yellowed, especially along the edges, has bumped corners, and minor edgewear. Purchased on eBay from Mel Oshen; 64 Chestnut Hill; Roslyn, NY 11576."
