Empty 1887(?) envelope from "Stewart Hartshorn; Patentee and Manufacturer of; Hartshorn's Patent Self-Acting Shade Roller; East Newark, N.J." to Anthony, Cowell, & Co. Providence, R.I. Anthony, Cowell * Co. were recorded in the 1889 Providence RI city Directory as purveyors of Furniture & Mattresses" and "All Kinds of Home Furnishing Goods." The envelope is empty, yellowed, and lightly stained overall. The corners are bumped and the edges are worn, especially the top edge, which is darker brown.
