Postally unused chrome color real-photo postcard showing the interior and exterior of the Millburn Diner at 72 Essex St at Lackawanna Place. Interior view shows Christmas decorations. Back of card says: "Millburn Diner & Restaurant; 72 Essex St & Lackawanna Pl; Near Railroad Station; Millburn, N.J.; Phone (201) 376-0504" and notes that it is a "Family owned Restaurant featuring fine Continental & American cuisine and Athenian specialties. Convenient to shopping area and Paper Mill Playhouse. All baking done on premises, famous for our CHEESE CAKE." Also printed on back is: "Are you having a party? Let us prepare something different to surprise and delight your guests. Open 7 days a week...Sun. thru Thursday 7 A.M. to 1 A.M.; Fri. & Sat. 7 A.M. to 2 P.M.; Owned and operated by Gus Thermenos family." Handwritten on back is "Alice Cardone took Everett and Elinor here to dinner; April 26, 1972." Front of card somewhat dulled, with light overall soiling. Back of card has a light 1/2" smudge near upper left corner and a 1/2" smudge by the lower left corner. Purchased on eBay from Roberta Bender; 551 Rutgers Ct; Brick, NJ 08723.
