Description

In 1935, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Simler purchased a lot at 10 Gap View Road. In July, a formal groundbreaking ceremony was held with: Stewart Hartshorn, Mayor Barker of Millburn, W.W. Drury (builder), Ferris T. Watts (Hartshorn's surveyor), Dan Wright (architect), Marie Sisler (wearing white gloves) and Mrs. Herbert Coursen. 95 year-old Mr. Hartshorn requested and received permission to supervise the construction.
