Interview took place at Stanley Rudiger's home: 429 Wyoming Avenue, Millburn on July 2, 1978. Mr. Rudiger began working at the Wyoming School in 1928, right after the extension (1920-1928). Describes Short Hills as being mostly wood, not a lot of development when he was in school. When he was in school there was just Wyoming & Washing ton Schools in Millburn and Hobart Avenue School in Short Hills. At the time, students walked or rode bikes to school. There were no buses. Describes the differences in residential property development between Millburn and Short Hills, as well as, the steam railroad. Rudiger was a member of Boy Scout Troop 12, which met at the Wyoming Church and discusses scouting in his youth. Describes the ice storms of 1948 & 1957 as well as the 1968 Millburn flood. Rudiger was the treasurer of the Wyoming Civic Association from 1968-1978. He discusses the activities of the association.Collection
