Photograph of Stella Worth Jones Vorhees (1888-1976) at the Vorhees Estate on Woodcrest Road. Stella Vorhees was born in Massachusetts and moved to Millburn in 1922, shortly after her marriage to John Vorhees. Before her marriage, she was an active participant in the women's suffrage movement. She also did social work among factory workers in Bridgeport, Connecticut, helping to educate working class young women. In Millburn, she served two terms on the Board of Education, being the 3rd woman to serve in the role.Collection
