Letter dated Wyoming, March 9, 1898 from George W. Reeve to the NJ Superintendent of schools asking for information about a Professor Cyrus Cales (?). Letter requests a reply be sent to G. W. Reeve, Wyoming, NJ, Millburn P.O. (Post Office). George W. Reeve was the son of Abner D. Reeve (sometimes spelled Reeves), the partner of Daniel Baldwin, the son of Ezra Baldwin (1787-1825) who owned Baldwin's Sawmill in Millburn. Reeve married Baldwin's daughter, Sarah Caroline Baldwin, in 1836 and bought out Baldwin in 1850. Abner & Caroline Reeve had 3 children: Harriet, Catherine B. and George W. George W. Reeve was born in Millburn on May 28, 1855, attended Newark Academy, lived in Short Hills for 3 years. He returned to Millburn and bought his father's sawmill and ran a carpentry business, sawmill and the family farm. George W Reeve married Laura Brokow of Millburn in 1876 and had 5 children: Edwin, Abner D., Harriet, George H. and Merrit.
