Description

Architect's sketch and printed plans for the proposed new recreation center in Taylor Park in 1971. The plans were published in the December 9, 1971 edition of The Item along with information about the financing for the project, which they projected to cost $495,165. The sketches were to be presented to in two public sessions (December 14 and December 20, 1971). The previous recreation building had been destroyed by fire earlier in the year. The printed plan has handwritten labels in blue in, the second plan is freely drawn in blue ink. The recreation building was later renamed in honor of George Bauer and known as the Bauer Center.
