Description

Thirteen issues of the Wyoming Weakly newsletter, published by the donor's grandfather, Carolus Roe Webb, and his brother Harold Webb. Issues are dated July 1897, August 1897, September 1897, October 1897, December 1897, January 1898, February 1898, March 1898, April 1898, May 1898, June 1898, July 1898, August 1898. The newsletter is primarily about, and for, residents of the Wyoming area of Millburn NJ. (Primarily local) Advertisements began to appear in the third issue of the newsletter. Entries about the comings and goings of the residents and the advertisements provide a unique look at the lives of some of the earliest residents of the Wyoming area. The first issue from July 1897 is a two-sided single page and all subsequent issues are four pages on a single 12" w x 9" h paper. The first three issues were apparently printed on a poor quality paper and are yellowed overall, with darker yellowing around the edges. Those same three first issues have edgewear and the second issue has a ca. 1" long x 1" wide (at the top) triangular torn piece at the top of the center fold. The third issue has a triangular light spot on the bottom right corner of the front page, where something was obviously on top of it, protecting it from light damage. Subsequent issues are crisper and have very little yellowing.
