Jet mourning necklace with locket belonging to Sarah Caparn Bishop. The necklace contains a photograph of her husband John Foster Bishop, who died on October 14, 1874. Sarah Horner Caparn (1832-c.1899) was the older sister of landscape architect Thomas John Caparn. The exterior of the locket features John Foster Bishops monogram carved in high relief. The jet mourning necklace is broken.Acquisition
