Photograph from Sol Young Studio of a young woman in fashionable 1920s dress. The photograph is part of the Nadin-Bosworth Collection. The woman in the photograph is most Ruby Ethel Matthews (see 2025.062.021) Sophia B. Nadin, who married John Bosworth in September 1890. Sophia's sister, Harriet A. Nadin married George B. Lyon. Their son, Russell Albert Lyon's (1892-1977) first wife was Ruby Ethel Matthews (1896-1971).
This would have made Sophia A. Nadin Ruby's aunt by marriage.
Sol (omon) Young (1865-1921) operated several successful photography studios in the early 20th century. He opened his first studio in 1893 with his wife in 1893, near Union Square in New York City. By 1915, he operated at least 7 studios in New York and one in Connecticut.Collection
