L.C. Albro and H.T. Lindeberg were both trained in the offices of McKim, Mead and White. Upon the formation of their own firm, they concentrated on the design of suburban country homes. Following the Craftsman tradition, Lindeberg urged simplicity for the interior finishing and scorned meaningless ornament and applied color over natural wood. He also felt that materials obtained in the locality of the site were most appropriate for use in the structure.Collection
