Photograph of 45 Lakeview Avenue from the 1978 David Gibson Historic Sites Survey. The house was designed by James E. Ware and completed in 1910 for Walter R. Hine, who lived in the house until 1922. Hine built a second house on Old Short Hills Road, which was featured in the Summit and Vicinity Publication (1925). The Lakeview home was featured in the 1910 issue of Country Life and in the International Studio as exemplifying the modern Italian Villa style of houses in vogue at the time.
