As per Cora Hartshorn's description on the back of the photograph: In 1880, the quarry was crushing 100 tons of blue traprock per day. Stewart Hartshorn was constructing roads and walks and telfordizing them as fast as they were built. The old man in the foreground is Cora Hartshorn's grandfather (Stewart Hartshorn's father-in-law) Andrew Collins Randall, who superintended the quarry. He was about 78 years old when this photo was taken (Information from Cora Hartshorn). Site is now partially covered by routes 24 (NJ) and 78 (US Interstate).Acquisition
