Description

Set of 8 photographs by Henry Fuermann & Sons, Chicago, Illinois of Alfonso Iannelli's Midway Gardens Sculptures, 1914. Photographs are mounted on brown paper and in portfolios stamped Henry Fuermann & Sons with protective brown paper. Midway Gardens was an indoor/outdoor entertainment complex on the south side of Chicago, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1913 and built in 1914. Wright collaborated with sculptors Richard Bock and Alfonso Iannelli on the sculptures decorating the facility. The Iannelli pieces were photographed by Clarence Fuermann and published in the May 1915, issue of The International Studio. Bonnie Snow's collection of Fuermann photographs are all in their original brown portfolios from Fuermann & Sons, although some have become detached from the pages.
