In the fully developed Shingle Style, the entire structure is organized under the main gable, reflecting a quest for discipline. The style derives its name from the manner in which shingles are used as a skin to enclose space. One of the original Hartshorn Estates, Inc. homes. Unnumbered. The house originally belonged to Horton (Deed is made out to Elizabeth R. Horton and dated 1879). Owned by William W. Watson in 1924. House is attributed to Lamb & Rich, House for Stewart Hartshorn, “Engleside” (George M.S. Horton House), 1 Park Place, Short Hills, N.J. 1879, L.&W.Collection
