Greystone Cottage was designed by architect Arthur B. Jennings of New York and built in 1880.The house was one of the earliest constructed in Short Hills Park and was occupied by William R. Bliss. It appears in several contemporary depictions of Hartshorn's Short Hills development. The house is typical 19th century vernacular, featuring elements from several source. Common to other homes in Stewart Hartshorn's development are paneled or modeled chimneys in cut or molded brick, where the decorative brick work of the chimney compliments the brick window treatment.Collection
