Walter Smith House, "The Hessian House," 155 Millburn Avenue
Description
The Hessian House, restored and owned by Harvey Kahn (c. 1957). House was constructed shortly after 1740 from a design in the Carpenter's Handbook. Legend has it that two Hessian soldiers deserted during the Battle of Springfield on June 23, 1790 and hid in the attic.
