Unidentified Photograph: Columbia Penny Photos Woman Facing Front
Description
Photograph by Columbia Penny Photos, 69 & 79 Market Street, Newark, New Jersey. Penny photos were an inexpensive alternative to carte-de-visite photographs. The photographs were made in strips with semi-automated developing and processing of the strips, thus enabling prints to be produced for literally a penny.
