Map for the development of the Woodfield section of Short Hills filed on October 27, 1926 and registered by Howard S. Dodd. The area was developed by Philip J. Bowers Co., Bowers Building 189-91 Market Street, Newark and surveyed by Edmund R. Halsey, 79 Academy Street, Newark, New Jersey. The survey is dated October 26, 1926. The development was for 90 lots and covered the area of the John and Gertrude Taylor Estate. It was bordered by Old Short Hills Road and Parsonage Hill Road. The following streets were in the original design: Woodfield Drive, Grosvenor Road, Delbarton Road, Oaklawn Road, Kenilworth Road, and Loantaka Way (eliminated in the final plan).Acquisition
