A photograph and description of Alpharetta's first town well as found in the first minutes of the Miton Inferior Court of July 17,, 1858. Fresh water from the spring supplied Prospect Campground, the same spot where Cherokee Indians gathered to refresh long before the coming of the white man. The minutes also show the names of 11 men who were the highest bidders on the first increment of town lots in Milton, later Alpharetta.Collection
