There is also an index in the back by name. The book was published in 1983 by the Alpharetta Old Milton County Historical and Genealogical Society.Context
Georgia began requiring a marriage license in 1804. By law at that time, the ceremonies were required in the County in which the Bride resided. The original courthouse located on Alpharetta's Main Street in Old Milton County (the County seat) burned in 1865 wiping out the early records. Official marriage records from Milton County are with Fulton County.Collection
