Steam Tractor works no 4422 - Pre Boer War 1895

Description

Brought in to South Africa by the British Forces to be used in the war against the Boers in 1899. after the war finished in 1901 the British donated the tractors to the various mines. This specific unit was donated to Geduld Gold Mine and it was used on their Mine for 70 years. It was placed at President Park as a Memorial in the 1980's and is now exhibit No 1 at the Museum
