Figured and Fancy Jacquard coverlet, circa 1838. The coverlet was made in two panels by a master weaver, and is most likely of Ontario origin. Made of blue wool and white cotton the coverlet presents a floral motif. This coverlet is quite fancy for its age, boasting designs more commonly found in coverlets made in the 1860s/70s. A canvas sleeve has been sewn onto the backside of the coverlet, It is attached at the wrong end.
