Long rectangular object with a semi circle back and a hook at top to hang. Bottom has place to hook items, such as wool, to weigh them. Piece is black with silver grey/metal on the front that has writing on it, such as numbers and company info.
On the top front of the piece reads: "CENTRAL / SCIENTIFIC CO / CHICAGO. U.S.A"
Just below that reads: "CHATILLONS / IMPROVED / SPRING BALANCE / NEW-YORK"
Bottom part has "KILO" on top of the ruler part with 0-15 on the left and 0-30 on the right. The right side numbers may have been used to read neutons.Collection
