Wooden box containing metal micrometer/microscope, instruction sheet, and envelope with screw.
Box is black with a front clasp. Top of box has manufacturers label "N.R.C. Applied Chemistry 65". Inside of box has purple felt lining on bottom and red padded lining on top containing the words "Chas. Lowinson 475 Fifth Ave, N.Y.C.".
The microscope is brass, with a black eye piece. There are two dials to adjust the position of the eye piece or the dimensions. The eye piece is adjustable for focus. The bottom by the eye piece is used to freely shift the microscope from left to right without using the dial. There is a clip on one side. Writing on the brass base on the front says "Pat. 1740970 Chas.Lowinson Dec. 24 1929 New York N.Y. 8671"
Instruction sheet contains instructions on how to use the instrument as well as a picture of the device. The box also contains a small envelope with an extremely small screw.Collection
