Description

Single bed quilt. Blocks of appliqued quarter-circle, five-panelled fans, made of fabrics of many different colours and patterns. Background is white. Some fans in one corner appears to intentionally have mostly white panels, though others have torn off to reveal white backing. Quilting follows arcs of fans, with a wavy border on white around the edge of the quilt.

General Notes

Note

Notes: Proposed date (which has no supporting evidence in paper file) seems a bit early from some of the fabrics - early to mid-20th century (1920-1950) seems more likely. Status: on touring exhibitio Status By: Schut, Kirsty Status Date: 2011-06-17
