Description

Off-white christening gown with lace embroidery around neck, sleeves and centre of hem. Triangular lace insert at collar. Zig-zagged hems. Finely gathered at high waist. Back has small pleats and a slit that extends past the waist with ties and a small white plastic button at neck and waist. TO BE DETERMINED BY EXPERT: Created after 1910 (approx.) in a Ayrshire style. Suggesting connections to Scotland where the style originated.
