Description

Associated with 2017.08.01-15. Blue wool military cap with crest on the front of the brow band above the brim. Leather strap also above the brim, buttoned on either side of the browband. Crest is that of the Royal Canadian Air Force, consisting of a golden eagle with the British Crown in red, green and brass above and gold stitched patch of laurels below. Exterior of the hat has no other decoration and is a uniform blue with a band of black where the brow band is on the interior of the cap. Browband is made of brown leather, stitched in blue thread. A band of soft brown fabric has been stitched in navy over the browband at the front. The back of the cap has a small white ribbon bow. The interior of the cap consists of light blue cloth with a brown/orange plasticised square of fabric about 5inches square. The plasticized fabric is stitched on in blue thread but beneath is the logo for the "The Uniform Cap MFG Co." Label is printed on an orange tag stitched on with navy thread. The tag says as follows : [The Uniform Cap MFG. Co. / manufacturer of / MILITARY CAPS/ 131 Bank St., Ottawa, Can./ Size 7 1/2 ] Cap is in good condition, no stains, holes or tears. No cracks in the leather or fading.
