Description

Hand cranked wooden yarn winder, made in 2 parts. Arms (a) of the winder can be set into niches to attach to the base and gears of the instrument. Base (b) is 58 by 34 cm with a height of 58 cm as well. There are no makers marks visible, however the arms of the winder and the legs of the base were decorated with stylistic carved bands. While some of the joins and pegs holding the various part of this machine together are made of wood, small metal pegs / nails are present. Wood appears to be a light colored hardwood. Reel portion of the winder has an arm span of 44 cm and a length of 70 cm including the crank handle.
