Scope and Content

Receipt for a loan from Massey-Harris Company at the Bank Montreal in Almonte. A loan of $22 was given to Mr. John Fulton for "A 81 Sloop Sleigh". The receipt is dated January 20 1916. The loan was agreed upon to be paid by the first day of January 1917 with interest at the rate of 8% per annum after maturity. The receipt is stamped "PAID" and there is a large written "R" in blue pencil accross the front of the receipt. The receipt is signed by John Fulton and an illegible witness. Roth Philips was the agent who submitted the transaction. The back of the receipt includes a stamp which reads "for collection on account of Massey-Harris Co.". There are also two dates written on the reverse side, including "20/4/17" as well as an illegible date and "Paid $15".
