Receipt to John Fulton stating that he must pay 71.35$ to the order M. West at The Sterling Bank of Canada on Oct. 19 1912. The receipt is printed in black ink and written on in black and red ink. There are 5 stamps on the paper, 3 purple and 2 blue. On the front side of the paper the 2 purple stamps are the likely location of the transaction: " Almonte Ont. " and one that states the day which the bill was paid : " The Sterling Bank of Canada, Paid Oct 7 1912, Almonte Ont". The blue stamp is the stamp of The Sterling Bank of Canada. On the back side of the paper is a smudged copy of the purple " paid" stamp and a small blue one that says " Pay to the order of The Sterling Bank of Canada".
