Label above photograph reads "Some of the former students of P.C. Mc. Gregor of the Almonte High School in the 1800s. In group are P.C. McGregor L.V. Croft T.A. Paterson Grant Affleck and others." P.C. McGregor was a principle of Almonte High School in its earliest days. J. Townend was Almonte's first photographer (born in 1856 in England, he immigrated in Canada in 1860). The students in the photograph, other than those named in label, are unknown.Collection
