Letter to Alexander McLean and John Baird from Robert Bryson to give notice that payment of the sum of $650 at 8% per annum from March 25, 1885 for mortgage. It is two pages in length.

To Alexander McLean of the Town of Almonte in the County of Lanark miller and John Baird of the Township of Ramsay in the county aforesaid Woollen Manufacturer
I Robert Bryson of the Town of Almonte aforesaid Esquire hereby give you notice that I demand payment of the sum of six hundred and fifty dollars and interest thereon at the rate of of eight per centum per annum from the twenty fifth day of March one thousand eight hundred and eighty five due to me the said Robert Bryson upon a certain indenture of Mortgage executed by the said Alexander McLean to one John Snedden of the Township of Ramsay aforesaid yeoman and dated the Twenty fifth day of march one thousand eight hundred and eighty and which mortgage was registered in the Registry office for the North Riding of the said County of Lanark the eighteenth day of June A.D. 1880 for securing the repayment of six hundred and fifty dollars and interest thereon as therein mentioned on the following property namely all that certain parcel or tract of land and premises situate lying and being in the Town of Almonte in the county of Lanark in the Province of Ontario and Dominion of Canada Being composed of all that part of Lot number Thirty four on Brae Street in the said Town of almonte as laid down on

Bells General plan of the said Town registered in the Registry office for the North Riding of the County of Lanark not heretofore conveyed by the said John Baird to alll [spelling uncertain] Henry Stafford also all that other certain parcel or tract of land and premises situate and being in the Town of Almonte aforesaid and being composed of a part of Lot number seventy six on Farm Street in the said Town of Almonte and which may be better known and described as follows that is to say commencing at a post planted at the north easterly angle of said Lot Twenty six when its easterly boundary ceases in the boundary of Lot number Thirty four on Brae Street as shown on the aforesaid plan thence along the boundary between Lot number Twenty six on Farm Street and Lot number Thirty one on Brae Street forty four feet six inches to the boundary between Lots Thirty four and Twenty six thence along the said boundary twelve feet to the place of beginning containing five hundred and thirty feet be the same more or less
Which mortgage was by and of assignment [spelling uncertain] dated the Eleventh day of June A D 1883 duly assigned to me the said Robert Bryson by the said John Snedden

And take notice that unless payment of the said Mortgage money and interest be made within ten days from the time of your being served herewith I the said Robert Bryson will proceed with or without any consent or concurrence on your part and without any further notice to you to enter into possession of the said premises and to receive and take rents and profits thereof and whether in or out [spelling uncertain] of possession of the same to make any lease or leases of the same as I the said Robert Bryson shall see fit and to sell and absolutely dispose of the said land and premises either by auction or private sale or partly by auction and partly by private sale as I the said Robert Bryson shall see fit and to sell and absolutely dispose of the said lands and premises either by auction and partly by private sale as I the said Robert Bryson may deem proper and either for money or upon such terms of cseact [spelling uncertain] as I may theim [spelling uncertain] & proper and to convey and assess the same when so said unto the purchaser thereof as I shall direct or appoint.
