Scope and Content

Bill of Complaint, Chancery between James Forgie, Plaintiff and Bennet Rosamond, William Rosamond, and George Stephen, defendants in the town of Brockville. Head of Coleman's Island in the Mississippi River there have been two dams for 40 years. Part of the premises was sold in 1847 sold by Daniel Shipman to Allan McDonald. Allen McDonald was to have in the possession and enjoyment of sufficient water for carrying on wool carding and cloth manufacturing. The plaintiff claimed that the defendants deliberately disturbed and interrupted the plaintiff's use and enjoyment of the dam. It is 8 pages in length.
