Description

Aaron Zelner, 1860 Bands of light green, cadmium red, indigo blue wool on natural white ground. This tied double cloth coverlet made by Aaron Zelner has bands of red, indigo, and green on a natural white ground. It is one of three identical coverlets known to have been made by Zelner for the Groff family between 1856 and 1860. It features a corner cartouch which reads "MADE BY A ZELNER WATERLOO TOWNSHIP FOR MARY ANN GROFF".
