Black and white, two panel, geometric coverlet .
Grandmother (b. 1855) of donor remembers the coverlet being around when she was little. Grandparents owned a farm in Uxbridge, Port Perry in Southern Ontario and later moved to Carp. Then Perth. The coverlet was woven from wool and cotton from the farm in Uxbridge. It was woven in two pieces then sewn together, as the loom on the farm was too small. Most domestic looms were two small and as a result most geometric coverlets are made in two or three panels.Collection
