MACHINES./ HUDDERSFIELD/ Telephone No III.] [Priest Roy{d/l} Iron Works, / Huddersfeild {?} 22nd 1904] The address for the Rosamund Woolen Company is hand written at the top of the page and this 2 page letter seems to be discussing buisiness transactions and the purchase of woollen machinery. The first set is shown in drawings no 1186 for Scribbler, and No 1186 A carder and condenser the set Consists of one of our No 20 Hopper feeds 66” wide Scribbler, 66” wide scribbler, 1 scotch feed with a hamton shear apparatus, 1 Carder 60” wide, and 1 Tape dividing condenser, put up with 4 pairs of rubber leathers fixed tandem wise in 4 lengths, and 4 lengths of surface drums, in this set the hopper feed is put up with a delivery sheet so as to deliver the material up to the feed rollers, the licker in is an Iron one and covered with grometted wire, also the 3 feed rollers are grometted, the licker in has a fly burr roller fixed over it. B. for Carder and Condenser, The set consists of 1 Hopper Feed 66” and 1- Scribbler 66” units, Similar to the one previously named also 1 Scotch feed with hamton apparatus, 1 Carder 60” Wide, for up 1 Double Doffer Tandem Condenser , with 2 -20” Iron doffers, 2 traversing strippers 3 1/2“, 4 pairs of rubber leather, fixed in 2 heights, tandem style, 2 intermediate raddles, fixed one between each other set of scribbers to have our latest style of excentrick and driving motions in this set the Hopper feed, and feed rollers & licker in are as before named, The scotch feed and front part of carder as the same as named before, We provide the Rubber Leathers, the durth [spelling uncertain] Doffers to be mahogany segments, the 2 condenser doffers & 4” strippers to be iron, all other rollers to be Pine deal the price for the above set is [pound sign] 384,,0,,0 If any fly strippers are required the cost is [pound sign] 2,, each, If the swift parts are put up with 5-8” washers and 5-3” iron strippers instead of the 4 stated the instead cost is [pound sign] 5, for swift part.
