Page, yellowed with age though likely origionally white. 42 by 33 cm page folded in half to create 2 attached legal size pages. The agreement is entirly handwritten, but is set out in the same format as the printed agreements / deeds in this set.
This page appears to be totally handwritten by John A. Gemmill (signature and writting are formed in the same handwritting) outlining an agreement between James Rosamond Jr of Rosamond Woollen Mills and John A. Gemmill.
Transcription :
This Assignment made between James Rosamond the younger , Charles Miller and John Alison Scott all of the of the village of Almonte in the County of Lanark and province of Ontario all [trading] at Almonte in the County of Lanark and Province of Ontario all [trading ]at Almonte together as Machinists andiron founders of the first part - John Alexander Gemmill of the village of Almonte aforesaid official assignee of the county of Lanark of the second part-
Witnesseth that under the [Jeso] [Sisions] of the Insolvent act of 1875 the said parties of the First part being [Insalesnt] heirs assigned and hereby do assign to the said party of the second part accepting hereby as assignee under the said act and
for the purpose therein provided all this state and effects real and personal of [reary] [salire] and kind whatsoever to draw and to hold to the party of the second part as assignee for the purpose and under the act aforesaid.
In witness whereof its said parties hereto have hereunto set their hands and seals this twenty ninth day of September one thousand eight hundred and seventy five.
