This Indenture
Made the sixteenth day of October one thousand eight hundred and seventy three, in pursuance of the Act respecting Short Forms of Conveyances,
Between Bennet Rosamond of the Village of Almonte in the county of Lanark Esquire of the First Part : and James Rosamond the younger of the same place Gentleman of the second part :
Witnesseth , that in consideration of fourteen hundred dollars of lawful money of Canada now paid by the said party of the second part to the said party of the First part, the receipt whereof is hereby him acknowledged, he the said party of the First Part Doth Grant unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forebar, ALL and Singular, those certain parcels or tracts of land and premises situate, lying and being in the Village of Almonte and in the County of Lanark, being compsed of a part of the East half of the Lot number sixteen in the ninth Concession of the Township of Ramsay and may be better known as being villagelots numbered Twenty six : twenty Seven : thirty eight and thirty seven on Stephen street, twenty four and twenty five on [Lineose] Street and Thirty nine and forty on Mitcheson in that part of the said Village of Almonte known as The Rosamond Section as laid out by Andrew Bell Esquire Provincial and Surveyor a lace of Which , drawn by him is registered in the Registry of the North Riding of the said county of Lanark.

TO Have and to hold, unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns , to and for his and their sale and only use forever, subject nevertheless to the reservations, limitations, previsios, and conditions expressed in the original Grant thereof from the Crown.
The said party of the first part covenants with the said party of the Second part that he has the right to convey the said Land to the said party of the Second part, notwithstanding any acts the said party of the First part : And that the said party of the Second part shall have quiet possession of the said land, free from all encumbrances; and that the said party of the First Part will execute such further assurances of the said Land as may be requisite : AND that the party of the First par has done no act to encumber the said land.
And the said party of the first part releases to the said party of the Second part all his claims upon the said lands.
